Ladybrand Heritage House is situated in the picturesque Eastern Free State, gateway to the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, in the bustling town of Ladybrand. Nestled at the foot of Platberg, with a view of the majestic Maluti Mountains.
Ladybrand Heritage House provides visitors with a unique combination of old-world charm and modern-day comfort, whilst still retaining the history of the old “Gedenk Kinderhuis”.
“Ons Weeshuis” was founded in 1904, after the Anglo-Boer War, during which many children were orphaned. In the sixties the name was changed to “Gedenk Kinderhuis”.
Ladybrand Heritage House has opened its doors in the stately double storey sandstone building which was erected in 1920.

The heart-warming lounge and dining area provide visitors with a relaxed atmosphere, where a glass of fine South African wine or whiskey can be enjoyed, while browsing through one of our ample books or playing a game of billiards or snooker.
Bordering the eighteen-hole golf course of the Ladybrand Sports Club, we offer direct access to a round of golf, a few lengths of swimming, a session at the gym, a game of tennis or squash or a walk on the Steve Visser hiking trail, leading you to the historical “Stables”, carved out of solid sandstone rock, millions of years ago.
